Prof. Igor Malinovsky

Igor Malinovsky received his first violin lessons at the age of six in Jekaterinburg. He attended the Music Universities in Vienna, Cologne and Zurich and studied there with Prof. Dora Schwarzberg, Prof. Gerhard Schulz and Prof. Zakhar Bron. At the age of 24 he was appointed first concertmaster in Munich, Bayerisches Staatsorchester. Further engagements took him to Berlin, Komische Oper and Valencia, Palau des les Arts Reina Sofia, where he also was holding the position of first concertmaster. He played with conductors such as Zubin Metha, Kirill Petrenko and Lorin Maazel. Beside the orchestra performances, Igor Malinovsky appeared frequently throughout Europe as violin soloist for example in Munich, Gasteig and Vienna, Musikverein. He also won some important violin competitions, such as Wienawski Competition, Menuhin Competition, Fritz-Kreisler Competition and the International Pablo Sarasate Competition. Since 2009 Igor Malinovsky has been Professor for violin at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden and also he became guest professor at the „Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya“ Conservatorium Superior Barcelona. In addition to his artistic and pedagogical occupation, Igor Malinovsky also is founder of DRESNDER RESIDENZ ORCHESTER, consisting of young and virtuous musicians, which play a successful serie of concerts in Dresden, Berlin and Munich. Igor Malinovsky plays a violin built by Giovanni Francesco Pressenda in the year 1826.
